What are Grief worksheets?

What is grief?

One such model, one of the first grief models by Kübler-Ross (1969) presented the five stages of grief and in each state the manifestation of grief is different.  

The first stage is denial where the individual who experiences loss is in a state of avoidance and denial as a way to cope with the reality of their loss. 

Then followed by anger where individuals are angered towards their circumstances and think that ‘life is unfair’.

This is followed by bargaining where there is a sense of false hope and individuals try to negotiate and make promises with themselves- this is often seen in individuals who are actively experiencing loss- like loss of physical health due to terminal illness. 

Depression is also another stage that individuals experience after the fact where they begin to withdraw from actively engaging in life and these emotions persist for the entire process of grieving, 

Finally, the stage of acceptance where individuals begin to rebuild their lives after they realise that their reality is final and that what they have lost is not coming back. So they begin to accept their new reality and start to engage in life again. 

One must understand that these states of grief are not linear and that one might experience different stages at different moments compared to people together and that some might even experience multiple stages at the same time.
